The 2017 auditions were held on Sunday 29th January. All auditionees have been notified as to the result of their audition.
The next auditions for the Kirckman Concert Society are likely to be held in January 2018 (date and venue to be confirmed).
Please note that the Society is not able to offer a performance fee to artists for recitals offered as a result of a successful audition, but does offer £100 per artist per concert towards out-of pocket expenses.
Those eligible to apply - The only soloists who may apply are pianists. Otherwise, applications are accepted from duos and small ensembles. Unfortunately at present we cannot consider applications from singers
Age limit - the age limit is 30 by the time of any recital offered. For ensembles, an average age of 30 (by the time of any recital offered) will be acceptable. Successful auditionees are likely to be offered a recital during the season following the audition. For example, following a successful audition in January 2018, a recital would generally be offered during the 2018/19 season. Dates are offered in accordance with artists' availability.
Residence/visa - applications are accepted only from those who intend to live mainly in the UK for a period of 3 years following audition, and who have permission to work in the UK for a period of 3 years following audition.
Application procedure (please DO NOT submit an application until the relevant forms are available)
The audition - Auditionees are requested to present a 15-minute contrasting programme.
Since to perform complete works would often exceed the time allowed, individual movements can be performed.
Candidates are requested to time their audition pieces carefully, since time is very limited and auditions which over-run are unfair on later candidates.
A warm-up room is available 20 minutes before the audition.
