Queensland-native violinist Catherina Lee and New England-born composer-pianist Miles Walter met in Cornwall in autumn 2025 en route to IMS Prussia Cove.
Catherina has received acclaim for her charm, poignancy and sensitivity, appearing as a concerto soloist across Europe and Australia with (among others) the Göttinger Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra di Padova e del Veneto, Vienna Ensemble, Wiener Akademische Philharmoniker, Junge Philharmonie Wien, and Queensland Symphony.
A devoted chamber musician, she has collaborated with Steven Isserlis, Kim Kashkashian, Shai Wosner, Colin Carr, Lars Anders Tomter, Philippe Graffin, Christoph Richter, Wilfried Strehle, David Waterman, Garfield Jackson, and Alasdair Beatson. Recent/upcoming chamber credits include performances in the Wiener Konzerthaus, Stockholm Konserthuset, Salzkammergut Festwochen Gmunden, Litchfield Chamber Music Festival, Australian Chamber Music Festival, Vigo Chamber Music Festival, and Miesbach Kammermusik Festival.
Quickly emerging as a leading young American composer, Miles' music has been broadcast on BBC Radio 3 and Rai Radio 3, and has been performed on four continents by major orchestras and soloists including the LSO, members of the Hallé, and Bertrand Chamayou.
Equally capable as a performer, Miles appears regularly as chamber musician in the US and Europe. Upcoming appearances include Amsterdam Muziekgebouw, Lewes Chamber Festival, Britten Pears, and Lucerne and Tongyeong International Music Festivals. A dedicated new-musician, Miles has premiered over fifty works. He is a pupil of Sir George Benjamin.
