The Kirckman Concert Society was founded in 1963 to promote young artists of exceptional talent and, at the beginning of their careers, to provide them with a platform at a major London venue.
Promoting outstanding young musicians

Sarah Gordon (1944-2015)

It is with the greatest sadness that the Kirckman Concert Society announces the death of its much loved and long-serving administrator, Sarah Gordon, after a difficult illness borne with great courage.

Sarah was far more than just a gifted music administrator. In addition to arranging a huge number of concerts and events for the Society, she helped and guided many artists with great skill and sensitivity at the beginning of their professional performing careers. Working alongside our Music Director (originally co-founder Geraint Jones and subsequently Neil Black), she saw this support role for Kirckman artists as being of crucial importance in building the confidence of young musicians and, with her colleagues in Sarah Gordon Concert Management, she made a vital contribution to the success of the Society's activities for over 25 years. We at Kirckman will continue to promote outstanding young musicians, but Sarah's dedication and warmth will be irreplaceable. She will be fondly remembered and very greatly missed.
